Azerbaijan's FM, Deputy PM of Latvia hold meeting (PHOTO)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend .

The sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between the two countries and exchanged views on prospects for further development of relations.

Bayramov talked about special importance attached to relations with Latvia, as well as successful continuation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries. He also stressed the significance of continuing mutual visits.

According to Artis Pabriks, Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of Latvia and Latvia, in turn, supports Azerbaijan's comprehensive cooperation with the EU.

Azerbaijani minister noted the importance of Azerbaijan's relations with the EU and expressed hope for an early completion of negotiations.

The meeting addressed the situation around Ukraine, humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to the country, as well as other regional issues of mutual interest.
