Ukraine - At least three civilians killed in bombing of Okhtyrka

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) At least three civilians were killed in the night bombing of Okhtyrka, Sumy region.

'At night there was an air bombardment of the private sector of Okhtyrka, residential buildings. At least three people were killed. Others have not yet been found,' Okhtyrka Mayor Pavlo Kuzmenko said in a video address on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

He noted that he was often criticized for taking videos of enemy destruction, but said he was not filming any strategic sites, only the housing sector, to show how the enemy was 'fighting' against civilians.

'Unfortunately, today there is no protection against air strikes, the whole country does not have it. All the people of the world are asking: give protection, close the sky over Ukraine. Those pilots, who bomb the town of Okhtyrka, should know that they are killing civilians,' Kuzmenko added.

On February 24, Russian president Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops shell and destroy infrastructure, conduct massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. Ukraine repels Russian invaders.
