Ukraine predicts to import 6M tons of coal this year


(MENAFN) Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported, Ukraine predicts to import 6 million tonnes of coal in the first four months of the present year.

Shmyhal mentioned during an hour of enquiries to Government conducted in Parliament on January 28 “Since November last year, 14 ships with thermal coal have arrived in Ukraine. Negotiations are underway to increase coal supplies in February-March this year. In general, the supplies of 6 million tonnes of coal to the warehouses of thermal power plants are planned in the first quarter,” reported Ukrinform.

As the PM said, since the start of 2022, Ukraine’s coal output amplified by around 20 percent against the same timeframe in the past year.
