(MENAFN) In accordance with local sources, the minister of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, was hospitalized on Friday evening when he fell ill, and no data is yet available regarding the 82 years old Muslim scholar’s health state.
Sheikh Sabri is a staunch critic of the decades-long Israeli conquer of the Palestinian lands and was held many times by Israeli troops.
He earlier held the post of mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian lands in 1994-2006.
