President of Turkey lands in Qatar for work trip


(MENAFN) On Monday, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, president of Turkey landed in Qatar for a working trip that will last two days.

Erdogan, who heads a delegation of high rank, was welcomed at Hammad International Airport by Qatari Finance Minister Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Turkish intelligence chief Hakan Fidan, as well as other chiefs.

Talking to reporters at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul ahead of leaving, Erdogan stated that he is going to Qatar to take part in the seventh conference of the Supreme Strategic Committee between the both nations upon the request of Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

According to Turkey’s president, ties between Turkey and Qatar are going to keep on growing in a "much more productive way."
