Dr Julie Ji is a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's School of Psychological Science. She conducts laboratory and real world research that aims to drive clinical treatment innovation through illuminating novel modifiable cognitive mechanisms that underpin emotional, motivational and behavioural dysregulation, in the context of depression, anxiety, and self-harm. Since completing her PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2018, Julie has already attracted more than $1.2 million in funding as principal investigator, from the Forrest Research Foundation, the Raine Medical Foundation, WA Department of Health (WA Healthway and the WA Child Research Fund). Julie's research has been published in peer-reviewed papers in top ranking journals and has received coverage in the Australian Financial Review, ABC News and Channel 9 News. A passionate science communicator, Julie regularly contributes her knowledge through public science talk and panel discussions. Julie is also a Fellow of the Public Policy Institute of the University of Western Australia.
