Next Mayor of New York wants his pay checks in Bitcoin

(MENAFN) Mayor candidate for New York City, Eric Adams, stated that he would prefer his initial three pay checks to be in bitcoin.

The previous police captain was voted this current week to take control at the end of mayor Bill de Blasio's term that ends in January.

Mr Adams stated on a social media platform that he desired to motion his goal to turn New York into the "centre of the cryptocurrency industry".

The value of the biggest cryptocurrency in the world, bitcoin, has been extremely unstable, since it was produced in 2009.

Mr Adam's remarks seems to be an effort to outpace Francis Suarez, the mayor of Miami, who had already stated in his own Twitter post that he would get his first pay check in bitcoin, after he was elected again.
