Jordan hosts 76th session of executive office of Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — The 76th session of the executive office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs (CAMSA) kicked off in Amman on Sunday.

Head of the executive office, Minister of Social Development Aymen Mufleh said that Arab countries are experiencing various social and cultural transformations and changes due to regional crises and changing political conditions.

Speaking during the opening session, Bahraini Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan highlighted Jordan's efforts in support of joint Arab action.

He noted that holding the meeting shows intentions towards continuing social development efforts and achieving the Sustainable Social Development Plan 2030, despite the additional challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also on Sunday, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh met CAMSA executive office members, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

During the meeting that brought together a number of Arab ministers of social affairs and officials from the Arab League, Khasawneh expressed the Kingdom's keenness to   support the 76th session of CAMSA in support of joint Arab action.

 The PM added that the challenges imposed by the pandemic require further coordination among Arab states to address the economic and social conditions, as well as the sustainable development efforts.

Arab ministers of social affairs, who attended the meeting, expressed appreciation for the Kingdom that hosted the event, commending Jordan's efforts towards supporting social issues and the measures taken to promote human rights and people with special needs.
