Queen Elizabeth II has grudgingly agreed to take a few days off to rest. She canceled her trip to North Ireland, informed Buckingham Palace. She is resting at Windsor Castle.

The palace did not provide any details on the decision. They say the 95-year-old monarch is“in good spirits,″ and disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit North Ireland for engagements.“The Queen sends her warmest good wishes to the people of Northern Ireland. She looks forward to visiting in the future,″ the palace informs.

The decision to cancel the trip was considered to be unrelated to COVID. The decision comes days after Elizabeth was photographed using a walking stick at a big public event. It was a Westminster Abbey service commemorating the centenary of the Royal British Legion, an armed forces organization.

Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee – 70 years on the throne — next year. The queen is a widow of Prince Philip. He died at the age of 99 in April. She maintains a full schedule of royal responsibilities. On Tuesday, she met with ambassadors and attended a reception for global business executives at Windsor Castle.

Queen declined the honor of“Oldie of the Year” by a British magazine. The Queen reacted to Oldie magazine’s recommendations. The previous recipients are actress Olivia de Havilland and artist David Hockney.

“Her Majesty believes you are as old as you feel. The Queen does not believe she meets the relevant criteria to be able to accept and hopes you will find a more worthy recipient,” says a letter from her assistant private secretary, Tom Laing-Baker. He ends the letter“with Her Majesty's warmest best wishes.”
