Indonesia: Earthquake kills 3, wounds 7 in Bali


(MENAFN) On Saturday, Oct. 16 three persons lost their lives and another seven suffered broken bones with another one remaining buried under rubbles of a building after a 4.8-magnitude quake damaged homes in the Indonesian resort island of Bali.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency stated that the epicenter of the quake, which took place at 3:18 a.m. local time with a depth of 10 km, was based 8 km northwest of Karangasem district, further saying that the tremors were felt until nearby Lombok Island.

The agency noted that the earthquake didn’t provoke tsunami.

Two persons died in Bangli district, one was killed and one was being pulled from the debris in Karangasem district, Head of Operational Unit of the Disaster Management Agency of Bali Province Gede Adhi Tiana Putra said to Xinhua.
