French warrior passes away in Mali


(MENAFN) According to the French army, a French warrior joining in Operation Barkhane died in a maintenance accident in Mali.

Gen. Thierry Burkhard, leader of staff of French army, stated that Adrien Quelin, 29, passed away following the truck cabin fell as he was working on the vehicle’s engine.

The army declared the accident happened in Mali’s Timbuktu region on Tuesday.

Also, the report showed “He was seriously injured. Despite the immediate care by the emergency services on the spot, he could not be saved. He died as a result of his injuries” and a search for the accident is underway.

Burkhard sent condolences to the family of the serviceman and the army.
