MADRID, Sep 26 (KUNA) -- The International Book Fair in Madrid concluded its events Sunday after 17 days of various cultural activities in spite of the COVID-19 health regulations.
The Book Fair organizers said on its official website that the audience was more than expected with long waiting queues, especially during the weekends.
The Queen Letizia of Spain opened the Book Fair, held in El Retiro Park in the heart of the Spanish capital Madrid with the participation of 320 booths, and 31 representatives from Latin America, headed by Colombia as the host country of this year's version.
More than 200 different activities were held, including discussion panels, literary forums, poetry competitions, and workshops for children, with more than 1,000 singing ceremonies since Sept 10.
The event was the largest international meeting for books in Spanish, with the capacity to offer business opportunities to the main publishing companies and to boost the book market. (end)
