Algeria mourns over previous president Bouteflika death


(MENAFN) A state funeral was organized for Abdelaziz Bouteflika, previous Algerian President who passed away at the age of 84 on Friday, and the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, senior officials, as well as foreign ambassadors were in the funeral in the capital Algiers.

The previous Algerian President was buried in the El-Alia cemetery east of Algiers, in the same place where his precursors and the Algerian revolution against the French colonial govern were buried.

Furthermore, the country stated three-day national sadness for the president’s loss.

For now, the Algerian Judiciary permitted his brother Said Bouteflika to be in the funeral, as Said was accused of depravity and been imprisoned from May 2019.
