Bunts Qatar conducts months-long environment awareness campaign

Doha: Bunts Qatar, an Associate Organization of Indian Cultural Center under the aegis of Embassy of India in Qatar, recently conducted various environment-related events from March to June  to mark the Earth Day, and World Environment Day  through virtual platforms. 

All activities showcased the care, concern and commitment to the environment.

The Grand Finale was graced by Fahad Abdullah Malak — Public Relation Manager, Friends of Environment Center-Qatar — as guest of honour.

Guest speaker Dr. Radhouan Benhamadou, Associate Professor College of Art & Science at Qatar University, spoke on the topic 'Climate Changes and COVID-19.’ Guest speaker Ashwath Hegde, Founder and Managing Director, Envigreen Biotech – India, spoke on the topic of plastic-free environment. Various competitions based on environment related themes namely, elocution, best out of waste, poster making, card making, colouring, paint and plant workshop were conducted for the members of Karnataka based organisation. More than 150 saplings were distributed and planted during this period.

The prize distribution ceremony celebration was held on July 2021 at the Club House of Beverley Hills Garden in the presence of Bunts Qatar advisers, MC Committee, senior members, parents and participants. 

President of Bunts Qatar Dr. Padmashree Shetty welcomed the gathering, saying  environment campaign in various ways will be a continuous effort throughout the year by Bunts Qatar.

Cultural secretary Vibha Krishna Shetty compered the event and delivered the vote of thanks where she expressed her gratitude to all the guests, participants, parents, sponsors, volunteers and MC members for the effort in making the 5 months long environment day celebration a grand success. 

She also thanked senior lady members Harini Rammohan Rai and Sudha Manjunath Shetty of Little Flower Kindergarten who provided their school premises to plant the saplings and expressed her gratitude to senior member Manjunath Shetty and family for providing the venue and logistics for the prize distribution ceremony.

In continuation with the environment related events, Bunts Qatar is conducting a plastic-free awareness campaign for the month of July 2021.
