Singaporean NODX rise 6 pct in April


(MENAFN) On Monday, May. 17 government agency Enterprise Singapore stated that Singaporean non-oil domestic exports (NODX) expanded by six percent annually last month, in comparison with the 11.9 percent climb in March.

The expansion was mostly because of exports of non-electronics, particularly specialized machinery, petrochemicals and primary chemicals, which expanded by 54.3 percent, 63.3 percent and 104.6 percent annually respectively.

Overall, the country’s non-electronics NODX increased by 4.7 percent annually in the past month, after the 9.2 percent expansion in March. In the meantime, the electronics NODX expanded by 10.9 percent annually, in comparison with the 24.4 percent increase in March.

On a month-on-month seasonally amended basis, the country’s NODX dropped by 8.8 percent last month to 15.4 billion Singapore dollars (around USD11.54 billion), after the 1.1 percent rise in the prior month.
