Netflix renews Regal drama 'Bridgerton' for Seasons 3 and 4


(MENAFN- NewsBytes) While we await the release of the second season of Bridgerton, news suggests that Netflix has already renewed the show for two more seasons.

The announcement comes just weeks after Season 2 went into production .

The first edition of this extremely popular period romantic-drama started streaming last December.

The show from Grey's Anatomy fame Shonda Rhimes's stable has reportedly mightily impressed the streaming giant.

    The statement read, "Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future. (sic)"

    The first season followed the love story between Simon Basset (Rege-Jean Page) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and was widely loved for their chemistry.

    Fans were highly disappointed after Page announced his departure from the show.
