Armenia's PM all set to arrange snap polls if parliament approves

(MENAFN) On Monday, Mar. 1 Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the ruling party is all set for snap polls if the parliament agrees.

Pashinyan noted at a meeting at the downtown Republican Square in Yerevan: "let's hold another election and we will see whose resignation the people demand."

In the meantime, he called on his supporters to conduct a nationwide referendum to take on a new Constitution during October.

Pashinyan stated: "I think it's time to make efforts to adopt a new Constitution or Constitutional amendments in October of this year by a national referendum, and transition to a semi-presidential system should be one of the possible options," further saying that this process should be done in a close cooperation with the National Assembly, the administration, the president, political forces and the civil society.
