Colombia: National Electoral Council to announce election results after presidential polls

(MENAFN)According to the nation's electoral body, Andrez Arauz is going to confront Guillermo Lasso in Ecuador's presidential runoff in April.

The National Electoral Council will proclaim the election results after the presidential polls within 14 days.

Left-wing economist Arauz claimed the first round of Ecuador's presidential election with 32.72 percent of the votes, not sufficient for an outright victory, based on preliminary results published by the electoral body.

With a slight difference over indigenous environmentalist Yaku Perez, conservative banker Lasso is going to confront Arauz, the protege of former president Rafael Correa, in the second round of the presidential polls.
