(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Award-winning Cantonese restaurant Hakkasan Doha is marking the Year of the Ox with its signature Chinese New Year menu.
Coinciding with Heart's Day weekend, this year's celebration will take place from February 10 to 26 with a specially curated menu and a unique setup, according to a press statement by Alfardan Hospitality.
'The Chinese New Year is a celebration of good health, prosperity, and fortune for the year ahead. All this will be reflected in every dish on the menu, which has been carefully crafted to portray the Chinese culture, and transport guests into an authentic Chinese ambiance and experience, the statement noted.
The culinary journey will start with a welcome cocktail to warm up the night, showcasing elements of fire and grace with a dash of sweetness, to get guests' taste buds ready for the remaining dishes.
The first dish on the menu will be the popular Yu Sheng salad, an authentic and colourful Cantonese bowl, renowned for bringing prosperity and good fortune, made with house-cured Loch Duart Salmon diced and tossed in plum dressing. Other dishes will include The Double Treasure Fortune made of Quail blossom puff paired with Seafood jade dumpling, Crispy kumquat chicken, Wok-fry tiger pawn with macadamia nut in sweet chilli sauce, Braised abalone roasted duck fried rice and Broccolini with black fungus and shimeji mushroom.
The feast will finish with the Mandarin dessert, made of white chocolate mousse and cacao butter, topped with gold leaf and mandarin gel. This is a reimagining of the auspicious Mandarin fruit, which is traditionally given to loved ones at new year.
Revolving around the principle of ‘Peace, Love and Sharing', Hakkasan's famous wishing tree tradition will go virtual for the first time ever. 'A wondrous setup will transform the walls of Hakkasan restaurant into a digital art installation, projecting messages of love, good health, fortune and happiness, the statement added.
The Chinese New Year limited-edition menu is available at Hakkasan for QR398 per person for a minimum of two guests starting on February 10.
Hakkasan Doha is open daily from 6pm to midnight.
