GCC countries' envoys say relations with Jordan an example for pan-Arab cooperation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 20 (Petra)- Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to Jordan discussed the Jordanian-Gulf relations and ways to develop them, as well as joint coordination and cooperation in all fields, in their regular meeting held at the Saudi Embassy in Amman on Wednesday.
The talks, which follow the GCC Al-Ula summit, aimed to exchange views and coordinate positions in a way that serves common interests between the Arab Gulf states and Jordan, according to a joint press statement.
Speaking during the meeting, the Saudi ambassador to Jordan, Nayef Al-Sudairy, said the final statement issued by the GCC summit, which was held in Saudi city of Al-Ula, confirmed support for Jordan's security, stability and development, as well as intensifying efforts to implement joint action plans agreed upon within the framework of the strategic partnership between the GCC and Jordan.
Ambassador Al-Sudairy pointed out that the GCC Council countries in general, and Saudi Arabia in particular, are "constantly" working to strengthen relations with Jordan.
For their part, ambassadors of Bahrain, Ahmed Al-Ruwaie, Kuwait Aziz Al-Daihani, the UAE, Ahmed Al-Balushi, Qatar, Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, and Oman, Hilal Al-Maamari, said the Gulf-Jordanian relations are "an example for Arab cooperation in all fields," and a "bright model" that can be built upon to promote joint Arab action and Arab activate agreements and decisions in this regard.
The envoys agreed on the importance of supporting cooperation frameworks between the GCC and Jordan in various fields, the joint statement added.
