Mainland commits to expanding exchanges, cooperation across Taiwan Strait

(MENAFN) A local spokesman said on Wednesday that a number of 79 bases for exchanges across the Taiwan Strait have been established in 24 regions throughout the Chinese mainland.

Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said in a statement that the founding of these bases indicates that the mainland has been unwaveringly applying its Taiwan principles and rules.

He confirmed that the move also reflects the mainland's commitment to expanding exchanges and cooperation, excavating integrated development, and encouraging closer connections of hearts and minds between people on both sides of the Strait.

The bases were set up under the approval of both the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
