Nicaragua: 17 dead, 25 wounded in truck crash


(MENAFN) A passenger truck dropped off a road in Nicaragua's Montanita region about 15 km from the Waslala urban area on Monday, November 23, killing no less than 17 people and wounding 25 more, police stated.

According to media statements, the dead comprised 12 females and 5 males.

Waslala Mayor German Vargas told a government radio station on Monday, November 23, that the accident was because of brake failure.

The total number of travelers on the truck stayed ambiguous.
