Qatar- Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality conducts food inspections


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The health Control Section at Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality carried out 336 inspection tours on various food outlets under its jurisdiction in August.

Four violation reports were issued according to law no 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control.

The inspectors checked around 959,450kg of fish at the fish market and the fish harbour, and 406kg destroyed for not being fit for human consumption, according to a statement.

Besides, they checked the validity of 1,927 carcasses of slaughtered livestock at the municipality slaughterhouses and 214 destroyed fully, in addition to 407 destroyed partially.

The section also carried out 10 inspection campaigns during the same period at the vital projects and companies to review the different stages of food production. Samples were sent to the Central Laboratory to ensure their compliance with the Qatari standards.

The section will continue its inspection campaigns during week days to ensure compliance with health conditions and review all the different stages of food production, transport, storage, preparation, and other processes until food reaches the consumers, the statement added.
