(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- The US recorded over 58,000 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours while Brazil reported at least 45,000 new cases.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the US recorded 58,406 new coronavirus cases and 1,133 deaths.
The tally showed that the confirmed cases in the US reached at least 4,620,444 and 154,447 reported deaths.
Meanwhile, Brazil's health ministry recorded 45,392 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the country's total cases to 2.7 million.
The ministry added that 1,088 new deaths were reported as the country's death toll reached 93,563. (end)
