10 IS foreign suspects imprisoned in Istanbul

(MENAFN) State-run Anadolu agency said Turkish police on Thursday imprisoned 10 foreign nationals in Istanbul over their suspected relations to the Islamic State (IS) militant group.

The Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Unit teams started concurrent operations in 14 different addresses across the city to arrest the suspects.

Anadolu added that the teams acted upon a warning, which said the suspects have been sharing organizational information on social media about the IS.

According to the agency, a blanked cartridge weapon and a wireless communication tool were also detained in the attacks.
