Afghanistan's First Coronavirus Patient Has Recovered: Health Ministry


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - Afghanistan's first coronavirus patient has recovered from the disease, the country's health ministry said on Tuesday.
As 21 others confirmed to have coronavirus, the first patient reported had come from Iran and was hospitalized in Herat province.
A total of 12 coronavirus cases have been reported in Herat province.
On Monday, dozens of patients including one confirmed to have coronavirus fled the hospital in Herat. Some of them have returned not including the one with coronavirus.
Earlier, local officials complained about lack of budget to fight coronavirus.
President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday said that he has ordered transfer of 400 million afghanis to Herat for the fight against coronavirus.
The president has also ordered that 24,000 tons of wheat should be distributed to the vulnerable people.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry announced that issuing of passport was suspended until April 19 as a precautionary measure against coronavirus. (1TV NEWS)
