Qatar- Awqaf Minister attends closing session of Sheikh Jassim Quranic competition


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, H E Dr. Gaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari, visited yesterday the 26th session of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Contest for males, organised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, in its final phase.

H E the Minister witnessed some of the competitions of the final stage for 2019, which was hosted by the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al Wahhab Mosque, in the presence of the Chairman of the organising committee of the competition and a number of senior officials in the Ministry.

The final stage of the competition determines the order of the winners in each category from first place to fifth, where the winner of first place of the Holy Quran memorization, recitation and improved reading for the citizens, as well as the categories of memorization for citizens and special memorization for residents will get QR100,000.

 While second place of the same categories is entitled to get QR85,000, third place will get QR70,000, fourth will get QR60,000 and fifth gets QR50,000.

The organising committee will also give prizes to the competitors who have passed the second stage and did not qualify for the third stage of the competition in memorising the Holy Quran in full, in addition to the rewards of good votes for all participants. The contest for female will be held today at Holy Quran Learning Center for Girls in Al Waab.
