Cells4Life Cord Blood Bank Receives AABB Accreditation

(MENAFN- Fenton) Cells4Life, the region’s leading private cord blood bank based in the UK, was recently recognised and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

AABB is a globally renowned association that assesses the practices, standards, and quality control mechanisms of companies that collect, process and store cord blood. The association’s primary goal is to protect donors and patients. As of 2019, they have provided accreditation for more than 2,000 institutions and 8,000 individuals around the world.

“Cells4Life is one of the few UK cord blood banks to have achieved this qualification. It assures clients that their child’s cord blood sample is in the hands of professionals with the right training, skills, and processes to correctly collect and process cord blood,” explained Darryn Keast, Managing Director of MedCells Middle East.

“We are so pleased to achieve this international recognition, as this accreditation provides additional validation for Cells4Life clients all over the world – including customers from the UAE and other parts of the Middle East – demonstrating that the company is up to date on the latest procedures and practices. It also highlights our integrity in maintaining the highest ethical standards of practice and transparency in our conduct to all our customers in the region,” added Keast.

AABB accreditation is only one of many accreditations Cells4Life has received including Human Tissue Authority (HTA) license for the procurement, testing, processing, storage, and distribution of human umbilical cord blood and cord tissue. Cells4Life is also a member of British Standards Institution and Cord Blood Association, and the only private cord blood bank to meet the requirements for NetCord-FACT accreditation. The company also comply with international and European standards of GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ISO principles.
