(MENAFN) According to the local police, police in Houston U.S. state of Texas, shot and killed an armed suspect on Monday morning.
The armed suspect was shot by a Houston police officer and was pronounced dead at the scene, as said in tweeted messages by Houston Police Department (HPD) and Chief of HPD Art Acevedo.
The suspect was shot outside an elementary school, about 25 km southwest of downtown Houston.
"A police officer discharged a weapon and shot a suspect armed with a gun." According to HPD, preliminary information showed, the school was locked down and safe, and no officer was wounded.
