São Paulo – The 19th International Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock and Agro Equipment -SIPSA-FILAHA 2019 is taking place from October 7 to 10 at the SAFEX exhibition center in Algiers, Algeria. Organizers are expecting 550 exhibitors from 30 countries and 23,000 visitors.
This year's theme will be Smart Agriculture, to rise to the challenge of sustainable food and health security, in keeping with the guidelines of Algeria's national agricultural program, the Embassy of Algeria in Brasília reported. Turkey will be a guest of honor for SIPSA-FILAHA 2019.
The trade show is sponsored by Algeria'sMinistry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries and other ministries. By focusing on food security – the cornerstone of Algeria's national agricultural policy –, the expo intends to help find strategies to sustainably increase local crop yields, organizers said.
The show will feature products and services for farms and food processing companies, livestock farming, genetics solutions, goat, rabbit and sheep farming, irrigation, dairy, storage, harvesting, horticulture, farm vehicles, replacement parts, fertilizers, greenhouses, seeds and seedlings, among other items.
There will also be business meetings with investors and project developers, forums and lectures on aspects of local agriculture and livestock. Forums will deal with agroecology, environment and sustainable development, the dairy industry, fishing, and fruits and vegetables. Opening hours are from 10 am to 6 pm.
SIPSA-FILAHA is organized by Exposia, a subsidiary of France'sComexposium – a world leader in events. The Algerian-based Exposia has been the premier organizer of agricultural events in the country over the past 15 years.
