(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Kuwait's Foreign Ministry pledged to continue security consultation and cooperation with Egypt's authorities, following Kuwaiti authorities' hand-over of eight Egyptians to their country's security forces on Friday.
Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister, Khalid Al-Jarallah, said that the handing-over of the wanted "terrorist cell" came under joint agreements between the two countries, Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, reported on Sunday.
On describing the Muslim Brotherhood as a "terrorist group", Al-Jarallah said that there is nothing new regarding this issue.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti daily newspaper, Al-Seyassah, cited a security source who said that Kuwait is considering designating the Brotherhood as a "terrorist group" next week.
However, no official comment has denied or confirmed such reports.
In the same context, Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas, reported that 300 Egyptian citizens reportedly belonging to the Brotherhood left the country fearing arrest, heading to Turkey, Britain, and other Arab countries. The newspaper cited high profile security sources.
The eight Egyptians are facing judicial verdicts in Egypt over charges of terrorism with judicial verdicts reaching 15 years in prison, according to KUNA.
According to investigations, the eight people admitted the cases they are involved in, revealing that they changed their names and used fake passports to leave Egyptian airports, Al-Qabas added.
The Brotherhood is already considered an 'outlawed' group in Egypt and other allied countries, such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, however, it is not banned yet in Kuwait.
In April this year, the White House said that United States President, Donald Trump, plans to designate the Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organisation too.
