Canada Company Launches Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Bursary Program

(MENAFN- GlobeNewsWire - Nasdaq) itemprop="articleBody">TORONTO, May 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canada Company is pleased to announce today the launch of a new bursary program aimed at helping Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers pursue post-secondary education, vocation or other learning opportunities.

The Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Bursary Program provides financial support to young men and women who demonstrate the attributes of leadership and citizenship, while also furthering their education.

This new program was designed to complement the Canada Company Scholarship Program, which was created in 2007 as a tribute to fallen Canadian Forces personnel to support the post-secondary education of their children. To date, Canada Company has awarded over $560,000 in scholarships.

'This new initiative based on the successful Canada Company Scholarship program, will make it easier for members of the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers to continue their education and realize their dreams,' said Canada Company Founder, Blake Goldring. 'We want to ensure that these young leaders receive the widest support, recognition and care starting with their education.'

Annually for the next five years, the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Bursary Program is committed to awarding 24 bursaries of $1,000 to:

  • Five Junior Canadian Rangers
  • Four Sea Cadets
  • Six Army Cadets
  • Nine Air Cadets
  • The bursaries will be awarded to young men and women who will display leadership, teamwork, proactivity, engagement in their learnings and who will show a positive attitude while being an example for their peers.

The bursaries are to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, or equipment requirements associated with the recipients selected post-secondary education.

'These 24 bursaries will go a long way in helping these young Canadians realize their dreams of post-secondary education and higher learning, ensuring that their experience in the Canadian Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Programs continue to have a positive, life-long impact long after they leave our programs to give back to their country, and their communities,' said BGen D.B. Cochrane, Commander National Cadet and JCRs Support Group.
