Oman- President of Czech senate arrives in the sultanate


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Jaroslav Kubera, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, arrived on Sunday on a several day long visit to the sultanate.

He was received by H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, Hon Dr Shaikh al Khattab bin Ghalib al Hinai, vice chairman of the State Council, Hon Dr Suad Mohamed Ali Sulaiman al Lawati, vice chairperson of the State Council, Dr Khalid bin Salim al Saeedi, secretary general of the State Council, Hon Salim bin Mohammed al Riyami, member of the State Council and Hon Mariam Issa Mohammed al Zadjali, member of the State Council.

As per a statement, the visit is aimed at deepening the ties between the two countries and enhancing cooperation between the State Council and the Senate of the Czech Republic. On Monday, the president of the Czech Senate and his accompanying delegation will hold talks at the State Council, which would contribute to opening new horizons for cooperation between the two countries.

The visit programme also includes the opening of a photo exhibition to be held to mark the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Czech Republic.

It is also scheduled to sign an agreement on air transport between the sultanate and the Czech Republic, and hold a meeting with businessmen at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Salalah, and meetings with a number of officials and visits to tourist landmarks in the sultanate.
