Sri Lanka- Proposal to declare Tripaitaka world heritage handed over to UN


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) A proposal to declare Tripaitaka a world heritage was handed over to the UN by President Maithripala Sirisena today.

The proposal was handed over at an event held at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy.

The Tripitaka contains the teachings of the Load Buddha made over 2300 years ago.

The Tripitaka contains three volumes as Suthra, Vinaya and Abhidarma.
