Daewoo Shipbuilding wins copyright suit in Japan

(MENAFN) Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. said it has won its copyright suit in Japan, related to its core technology in building its fuel-efficient LNG carrier.

According to the company, its Partial Re-liquefaction System (PRS) technology was registered as a patent in Japan in September 2016.

However, a Japanese firm claimed Daewoo Shipbuilding's PRS technology is not eligible for patent registration.

The same technology was also registered as Daewoo Shipbuilding's patent in 10 countries, including the United States, China and India.
