Iran, Pakistan to bolster collaboration against terrorism


(MENAFN) Iran will strengthen its collaboration with Pakistan on the fight against terrorism one month following the death of 27 Iranian soldiers amid a suicide terror attack.

A statement confirmed "Prime Minister Imran Khan held a telephone conversation with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani as part of his contacts to brief important regional countries and their leadership about the regional situation."

According to the statement, "the prime minister expressed his heartfelt condolences on the recent terrorist attack in which 27 Iranian guards were killed."

It further added that the two sides "agreed on the need for closer cooperation among the two intelligence agencies in combating terrorism."
