(MENAFN) Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has congratulated his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani over the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
In his message, Sarkissian highlighted the significance of keeping and increasing stable and mutually beneficial ties between Yerevan and Tehran.
He voiced confidence that the two countries will make effort and invest resources to that end.
The Iranian Revolution of 1979 was a sequence of events including the coup of the monarch of Iran, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, and substituting his government with an Islamic republic under the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolution.
