DOHA: Stage is set for exciting rounds of Qatar Superstock 600 (QSTK 600) and Qatar Touring Car Championship (QTCC) this weekend at Losail International Circuit.
After the great performance and double victory of Abdulla Al Qubaisi in the last round, Qatar's young rider will push hard to reduce the gap in the standings, as there are only two rounds left to end the championship and he has options to win the title.
Saeed Al Sulaiti is leading the championship with 140 points and Al Qubaisi is second with 119 points.
'I am looking forward to another exciting round this weekend and I will try to win both races again to secure the championship before the last round. In the last track day. Jassim Al Thani is leading the QSTK Trophy with the maximum points, 150 points, as he has won all the rounds in his category. Kuwaiti rider, Mohammad Al Zaidan is second with 120 points and Hassan Al Mansoori is third with 83 points.
This weekend will also be the penultimate round of the QTCC, and the leader, Abdulla Al Khelaifi (96 points) will try to extend the points lead to secure another championship title, as he has a considerable gap in the standings with the second classified, Hamad Al Sulaiti (52 points)
'My goal is to secure 20 points this round to take the championship title before last round. Good luck to everyone else and I am looking forward to an exciting battle this round, said Al Khelaifi.
Ghanim Al Maadheed is third with 47 points and very close to him, with 43 points, Mohamad Al Khaiat.
Today, track activity starts at 9:00 and finishes at 16:10. Tomorrow, there will be the two races for each championship, starting at 11:10 with QSTK Race 1 and at 13:00 for QTCC Race 1.
There is free entrance for all the fans at the grandstand and also at the Paddock.
