LAS VEGAS - Jan. 7, 2019 - PRLog -- Kamelia Kohlmeier, a clinical pharmacist service manager in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson, has joined the American Cancer Society's Power in Purple Relay for Life campaign , raising funds for the fight on cancer.
Tax-deductible donations will go to the American Cancer Society to be used to fund preventative screenings, treatments and ground-breaking cancer research.
Kohlmeier believes "Every dollar will help us get one step closer to a world where no one loses a loved one to cancer."
As a young child, Kohlmeier enjoyed playing doctor and pretending to administer check-ups to family members. Unfortunately, cancer hit too close to home and has impacted Kohlmeier and her family. A close family member was diagnosed with stage two cancer, and Kohlmeier provided love and care through the recovery process.
Kohlmeier's husband, David Kohlmeier, mentioned, "She's been touched by cancer in both her personal and professional lives and wants to do her part to raise awareness."
An alumnus of Roseman University of Health Sciences and a mother of three children, Kamelia Kohlmeier graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In her nine years as a pharmacist, Kohlmeier became passionate about helping people through difficult times. She counsels young pharmacists and works with patients around the Las Vegas Valley to obtain the best care.
Kohlmeier is an advocate for disease prevention through early detection and routine screenings. She believes in the American Cancer Society's mission stating, "Most of us know a friend or family member that had to battle with this horrible disease, but together we can defeat cancer and save lives."
