UAE: Sweden deal on Yemen wouldn't have happened without military pressure


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said on Thursday, that the United Arab Emirates welcomes the outcomes of UN brokered peace talks on the Yemeni crisis, which convened last Thursday in Rimbo, Sweden and ended today, Trend reports referring to Al Arabiya .

Gargash added that the agreement reached in Sweden between delegates representing the Yemeni warring parties, wouldn't have been reached without the military pressure used by the Arab coalition supporting the legitimate government of President of Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi fighting the Iran-allied Houthi militias.

The UAE minister added that the coalition saved the port city of Hodeidah from military operations in order to protect civilians.

He added that the port of Hodeidah can play now its role on the humanitarian and commercial levels.
