(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said presided over a Council of Ministers meeting at Bait al Barakah on Wednesday evening.
His Majesty the Sultan started the meeting by praising Allah for the growth and prosperity bestowed on Oman, appealing to Allah to continue such blessings for the nation and its citizens.
Then, His Majesty the Sultan reviewed local, regional and international issues.On the domestic front, His Majesty the Sultan expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the government and all sectors of the state to continue comprehensive development.
His Majesty the Sultan praised the completion of the new Muscat International Airport and the connectivity it provides to other international airports. His Majesty the Sultan also commended the development witnessed in the roads and ports sectors.
His Majesty the Sultan hailed the role of ministries in implementing plans and programmes, which have led to more growth in various sectors such as tourism, fisheries, mining and renewable energy, thereby contributing to economic diversification. His Majesty also pointed out to the role played by the Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit (ISFU) in this regard.
His Majesty the Sultan stressed the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors in setting up projects that will create manyopportunities for Omani cadres to take up jobs.
On another front, His Majesty the Sultan hailed the recent Oman-UK military exercises Al Shomoukh 2 and Swift Sword 3 for enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces and sharing of experiences and training on the most advanced equipment.
His Majesty the Sultan reaffirmed Oman's keenness to promote understanding and dialogue among countries for international security and stability.
His Majesty the Sultan also referred to many other significant issues and gave directives to achieve the required objectives. His Majesty the Sultan also wished all citizens success in achieving prosperity for Oman.
