(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The winners of the 2018 edition of Oman's Most Trusted Brand Awards were felicitated at a special function held at the Crowne Plaza, Oman convention & exhibition Centre, on Thursday under the auspices of H H Sayyida Tania al Said and the patronage of H E Talal al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General of Supreme Council for Planning and the General Coordinator for the Tanfeedh programme.
The awards event was attended by their highnesses, excellencies, chairmen, managing directors, CEOs and other top officials from 32 winners. Senior representatives of some of the winners arrived in Muscat from other countries in the region on Thursday morning to receive their awards from H E Rahbi and Saleh Zakwani, executive chairman, Apex Press and Publishing.
In her introductory remarks, Mohana Prabhakar, CEO, Apex Press and Publishing, said that the awards were set up by Apex Press and Publishing in 2016 to recognise those brands that had succeeded in establishing themselves as No 1 in their customers' minds. 'While the economic challenges have grown, what so many repeat winners are telling us is that they have not neglected or abandoned their brand as the markets tightened.'
In his speech, H E Rahbi talked about the importance of branding. He pointed out how Oman has grown tremendously under the leadership of His MajestySultan Qaboos bin Said, who is globally recognised as the leader who has spearheaded Oman's development in all spheres. He congratulated the winners and added that he was glad to see a celebration of the growth of the private sector in the country.
In her address on the importance of CSR in today's corporate world, Sayyida Tania al Said explained how business leaders could work in partnership with the Environment Society of Oman (ESO) to incorporate environment-friendly business processes that would also contribute to their CSR as well as ensure a safer future for our children. She mentioned howMuscat Daily's
paper recycling campaign started in 2011 has helped foster the culture of recycling paper in schools, colleges and corporates rather than dumping it in trash bins.
