Turkish First Lady urges reducing reliance on humanitarian aid


(MENAFN) Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan called on humanitarian assistance to consist works to cut down reliance on them.

The statement has been made on Monday by Turkey's First Lady in an address delivered at a panel of which the Turkish SETA Foundation launched.

The First Lady stressed that humanitarian aid strategies ought to avoid boosting the reliance of the recipients.

Erdogan noted "our [Turkey's] vision of humanitarian aid is not about aid packages or vulnerable people waiting in line."

She added that Turkey's help includes averting emergencies and shrinking dependency by development aid, and not just providing the recipients with their needs.
