(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two men were charged at a Dubai court after for allegedly threatening to kill a businessman and his son.
The Indian duo are facing threat and verbal abuse charges at Dubai's Court of First Instance. The incident was reported to the Bur Dubai police station.
The businessman, 44, said the duo - ages 52 and 29, came to his office in Business Bay at 2pm on May 18 to talk about a project. "They told me there is a fine worth Dh20 million due on the first accused and that if I filed a lawsuit they would kill my son."
The 52-year-old defendant also claimed to be an arms trader. He also said that he would kill him wherever he was in the world.
They then left but not before the first accused claimed he had influence in the UAE, the complainant told the prosecutor.
The businessman said he complained against them because he felt very scared.
A 28-year-old Pakistani man, who had gone to the office to apply for a job on the day of the incident, said he was waiting at the reception when he overheard the threats. "One of the men, who had just entered his office, told him that he would kill him wherever he was in the world if he caused trouble to the other accomplice."
The trial will continue on August 5.
