UNICEF: Japan records lowest rate of newborn mortality


(MENAFN) UNICEF has found Japan to have the lowest rate in the world when it comes to infants' mortality, with Iceland and Singapore as the second the third, respectively.

According to "Every Child Alive" report, "Japan, Iceland and Singapore are the three safest countries in which to be born, as measured by their newborn mortality rates."

It also assured that "babies born in Japan stand the best chance of surviving," since 1 in 1,111 newborns are exposed chances of death.

However, "children born in Pakistan face the worst odds," since 1 in 22 newborns are at risk of death.
