Liquidation of Naftogaz may start after Stockholm arbitration court delivers final judgment

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The date of delivering the final judgment of the Stockholm arbitration court in Naftogaz of Ukraine v. Russian Gazprom cases related to sale-and-purchase contracts and transportation of gas will be a starting point for liquidation of Naftogaz.

Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion said this in an interview with the Ekonomichna Pravda online Ukrainian newspaper, the Government portal reports.

"I believe it is necessary to conduct de-monopolization. Naftogaz can remain as a legal entity in the gas market segment and work as a gas distributor on an equal footing with other companies," Kistion said.

He noted that the judgment of the Stockholm arbitration court is needed to separate the function of gas transportation from the company which is necessary for the start of the liquidation process.
