Oman- Indian Embassy to celebrate yoga day on June 21


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Government of India is planning to appoint a yoga teacher in every Indian embassy all over the world to organise yoga sessions throughout the year. This was announced by H E Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to Oman while briefing media regarding celebration of the third International Day of Yoga on June 21.

Every year June 21 is celebrated as International Day of Yoga all over the world. On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly approved resolution 69/131, declaring June 21 as International Day of Yoga.

The Embassy of India in Muscat has been celebrating the day every year with the support of yoga training organisations based in Oman. Last year the embassy celebrated the second International Day of Yoga under one roof when more than 3,000 Omanis, Indians and other expatriate enthusiasts, practitioners and beginners performed yoga. The event was a great success in disseminating the benefits of yoga amongst Omani citizens and expatriates alike.

Various yoga training organisations and institutions in Oman have joined hands with the Indian Embassy to celebrate the day.

The Embassy of India invites all yoga enthusiasts in Oman along with their families and children above the age of 11 years to participate in the celebrations which will be held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Muscat on June 21. The session will start at 8pm.
