World Tennis Championship: joint Korean team signs unification flag

(MENAFN) The World Team Table Tennis Championship has begun with the joint Korean women's table tennis team signing the Korean Unification flag.

The unification flag has been signed by members of the joint team, five South Koreans and four North Koreans, as well as South Korean coach An Jae-Hyung and North Korean coach Kim Jin-Myong, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Inter-Koreans have joined together to play at the Championship taken place at Sweden's Halmstad, under a flag of a blue Korean Peninsula against a white background that is 2 meters wide and 3 meters long.

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) was said to be honoring such a move through showcasing the signed flag at the ITTF Museum in Shanghai, China.
