Policy Paper Advises Vision To Cut Jordan's AIDS Infections By 2030

Amman, Dec. 12 (Petra) - A policy paper called for launching a national AIDS coordination committee to orchestrate efforts to curb spread of this disease to reduce it by 2030 and enhance community awareness on prevention ways.
The paper also said this step would boost the comprehensive national response to the AIDS-related challenges by continuing to detect cases of infection to reduce mortalities, improve the quality of the patients' life and increase support provided for comprehensive health care.
The conference, themed: "Strengthening Sexual and Reproductive Health Policies for the Most Vulnerable Groups in Jordan," reviewed the efforts made by the Jordanian Ministry of Health to combat AIDS, primarily action to achieve the treatment rate under international protocols and implement the National AIDS Program (NAP), which focuses on securing the patients' voluntary testing and providing the necessary support.
On the sidelines of the event, the Jordanian "Ibni" campaign launched a policy paper on mechanisms to integrate sexual and reproductive health issues and rights for persons with disabilities into the Kingdom's procedural and training protocols for health service providers to ensure the benficiaries' privacy.
Meanwhile, Director of Information and Research Center at King Hussein Foundation (IRCKHF) , Dr. Ayman Halsa, said policy papers aim to strengthen the legal and administrative framework to protect the Kingdom's most vulnerable groups, in line with government efforts to promote human rights and achieve "sustainable" development goals.
