US Embassy Orchestrates Event To Mark Remarkable Successes Of Azerbaijani Students (PHOTO)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. The US Embassy
in Azerbaijan organized a special event to celebrate the
outstanding achievement of Azerbaijani students, Trend reports.
Fatima Mammadova and Farid Aliyev, fifth-year Chemical
Engineering students at Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS),
emerged victorious in the acceleration program organized by
Ventures Well for South Caucasus countries with support from the US
State Department. Competing as part of the“Ateshgah” team, they
successfully completed a five-week program in Tbilisi.
Their innovative project focuses on cooling solar panels,
addressing a critical challenge in renewable energy. The program
was implemented in Azerbaijan with the support of SUP VC, Ventures
Well's local partner.
During the embassy event, along with other students, they
showcased their project and participated in engaging Q&A
sessions, fostering discussions about their work.
“It is clear that Azerbaijanis who set their sights on studying
in the US are increasingly successful in realizing their dreams.
The US is the most attractive study destination for students from
around the world, with over 1.1 million international students from
210 countries and regions studying there last year,” US Ambassador
to Azerbaijan Mark Libby stated at the event.
According to recent statistics, a total of 1,130 Azerbaijanis
studied in the US during the 2023-2024 academic year, which shows a
25.4 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The US remains the top destination globally for international
study, with over one million international students. International
student mobility is central to diplomacy, innovation, economic
prosperity, and national security.
